Network-independent photovoltaic systems

Off-grid systems - independent and commercial

1.6 billion people still live without access to electricity. In many countries, even in urban areas, electricity comes from an unstable public grid on an hourly or daily basis.

Stand alone (Off-Grid) systems are photovoltaic systems with energy storage. They are not connected to any power grid. They are a completely self-sufficient supply for consumers (electrical load). This is why the performance of the photovoltaic generator and the electric accumulator (usually battery) must be sized so there is no time variation between the electricity production and consumption, which could result in unwanted interruptions.

Application areas for PV stand alone systems:
  • Lighting systems based on DC
  • Solar pumping system for water supply
  • The coverage of rural population
  • Electricity supply for street lights, signals, etc.
  • Villages and towns are also autonomous systems

Quality advantages
  • No fuel costs, since there is no need for diesel for generators, etc.
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Energy supply from the sun - anywhere, reliable and free
  • Independence from oil price fluctuations or increases
  • No environmental pollution caused by noise, exhaust fumes and oil leaks
  • Technically, very reliable and durable components (no wearing parts)
  • The generator converts the solar radiation energy directly into electrical energy, without any intermediate chemical, thermo or mechanical energy
