Off-grid systems - independent and commercial 1.6 billion people still live without access to electricity. In many countries, even in urban areas, electricity comes from an unstable public grid on an hourly or daily basis. Stand alone (Off-Grid) systems are photovoltaic systems with energy storage. They are not connected to any power grid. They are a completely self-sufficient supply for consumers (electrical load).
