Solar thermal power plants

1._Grafik_Solarthermie_engl

With the solar thermal systems, the solar energy is converted to solar heat, and is used for water heating or house heating. This clean and modern heat production method makes the combustion of oil, gas and coal, obsolete.

The solar thermal systems are not only useful when the heating-fuel prices are rising, but also as an alternative to conventional heating. Besides heating, the solar thermal systems are also able to warm up plenty of water, which can be used directly on site.

Solar heat is produced without combustion of fossil resources and is therefore CO2 neutral. Thus, solar thermal systems make an active contribution to climate protection.

Quality Advantages

  • Reduced heating and water heating costs
  • Independence from oil price fluctuations or increases
  • No pollution, exhaust fumes and oil leaks
  • Technically, very reliable and durable components

Efficiency

The viability of solar thermal systems is highly dependent on the oil price. Through the annual rise in oil and gas prices, the use of solar thermal energy has always been rewarding. The decentralized production of solar energy is a wise investment for the future, particularly considering the rapid diminishing oil and gas reserves.

Solar thermal systems have a minimum life of 20 years. The maintenance cost is low. A 10sqm collector area and a storage volume of 500 liters are enough to supply a 4 people household with warm water and heating aid.

In the Federal Republic of Germany, there are many programs that facilitate the financing for a solar system.
