Power Plant in Contuboel Village

Guinea Bissau

2017
Supply, Delivery, and Commissioning of a 106,5 kWp Solar Power Plant in Contuboel Village.

Contuboel, Guinea-Bissau's local community, was in a desperate need of an affordable solution to electricity access.

SOLAR23 was awarded the contract for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of a 106 kWp solar power plant - with financial assistance from OFID’s Energy Poverty Operations and the European Commission’s ACP-EU Facility Energy 10th EDF grant.

In Guinea-Bissau, sustainable energies, such as solar PV, are the only solution to support its population. With affordable access to electricity, these solutions will directly have a positive social and economic impact for the community.

SOLAR23 installed a 106 kWp solar PV power plant that has been interconnected into a mini grid in Contuboel village. This power plant will generate nearly 200.000 kWh per year. This project will supply energy for 440 households, businesses, and community centers. This project also included a training program for local technicians, so that ongoing operation and maintenance of the solar power plant could be achieved.
